The DOLINE Tray redefines the concept of a traditional tray with its minimalist yet sculptural design. The name ‘DOLINE’ comes from a natural landform, also known as a sinkhole, which forms when the ground sinks down, creating a concave space.

To address the challenges posed by the compact size and restricted number of product to display, we fully covered acrylic mirror across the back wall. This strategic use of reflection visually doubled both the perceived depth of the space and the quantity of products on display, creating an immersive optical illusion.

To maximize the advantages of high-frequency bending, we developed a unified shell structure in which the seat and backrest are formed as a single component. ABOUT
Studio PESI is a Seoul-based design studio working across furniture, lighting, and objects, as well as spatial design, exhibitions, and brand direction. The studio takes a cross-disciplinary approach, collaborating with partners to create work shaped by context.
Each project begins with a clear intention. The process remains open and adaptable. It may explore materials and industrial production, or focus on structure and proportion to support use. In some cases, attention is given to form, color, and finish. In others, the focus shifts toward efficiency and sustainability.
Through this iterative approach, Studio PESI develops work that balances function and form. The studio is interested in how objects are experienced over time, creating pieces that integrate naturally into everyday life and maintain a quiet, lasting presence.
