'BLIND SPOT' is a mirror collection designed through a collaboration between Studio PESI, which works in the field of industrial design, and artist Ye-seok Seo, who deals with contemporary art. Ye-seok Seo utilizes a technique of spraying ink or paint onto a mesh screen to create her artwork. So we chose a mirror as our medium for this project because both the mesh screen, that space can be seen through, and the mirror, that reflects the space, have a duality of disconnecting and connecting the space at the same time. Inspired by the mesh screen, we applied a grid made up of squares to the surface of the mirrors, and emphasized the boundary between the actual three-dimensional space and the space reflected in the two-dimensional surface of the mirrors by filling in the squares irregularly. This collaboration is an example of implementing artistic interpretation through industrial materials and processes.
